A DEATH PREDICTION FROM SPIRIT

I just read an interesting story of a death prediction from spirit that I’d like to share with you. Written by Ruby FitzGerald, it appeared in a national newspaper this week in a series triggered by the book mentioned in my last post.

Ruby tells how, when she was twenty, living at home with her Mum, Elizabeth, she had a very profound dream concerning her grandmother, who had recently moved to a care home. In Ruby’s dream, she was standing on a Worthing beach when her grandfather (who had died 7 years previously) appeared. Then she turned and saw that her grandmother was there too.

Her grandfather told her that in the morning she must tell her mother that Grandma was going to die very soon and that she must prepare herself for it. Subsequently, her grandparents both turned away, arm-in-arm, and walked along the pebble beach together.

Ruby tried to follow them in order to talk to her grandfather, but he turned round and told her to go back and give her mother his message. When she woke up, she told her Mum as gently as possible what Grandpa had said. Thinking it was just a dream, Elizabeth didn’t make much of it, but because of the profundity of her experience Ruby knew differently.

Three weeks later the call came saying her Grandma had passed away from unforeseen complications. Ruby was upset, naturally, but she was also comforted by her conviction that her Grandpa had warned her. Now she doesn’t question that when she dies it won’t be the end of her journey.

EXTRAORDINARY NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCE

Here’s an extraordinary account of a near-death experience that I felt compelled to share with you. It’s taken from The Map Of Heaven – Neurosurgeon Dr Eben Alexander’s brilliant book exploring the mysteries of the afterlife.

He tells of John, a war veteran’s son who believes he went with his father on the first leg of his journey into heaven.  His dad, an ex-prisoner of war, was fighting for life in his hospice bed after suffering a massive pulmonary embolism.

John was kneeling at the bedside, holding his father’s hand, when he was suddenly thrown into another – very vivid - dimension.  He was airborne, looking down at a rapid stream that flowed over rocks. His dad was in the water, clinging to a rock in a struggle to survive, when a golden glow like a celestial spotlight began spreading across the surface. Within the light, a white canoe with a red paddle appeared, floating on the rushing water.

Shouting excitedly, his father began swimming strongly for the canoe. No longer a sick old man, suddenly he was a youthful athlete. As he leapt into the canoe, John felt himself race down to ride behind his dad’s shoulder.

Then his father turned, giving him a look of love and joy such as he had never seen on his face before. Without warning, John was high in the sky again, watching the white canoe race towards a jetty where dozens of people were waiting and cheering.

He recognised them all – family, friends and war buddies of his dad’s. As the canoe docked, he saw his father stand up, raising the paddle in a salute, smiling and almost beside himself with delight. Then he leapt ashore and was caught up in a huddle of embraces and hugs.

Simultaneously, John found that he was back at the bedside and that his father’s heart had stopped.

John wrote to Dr Alexander saying: “This experience was transformative – a gift from my dad I could not repay. I can actually feel myself glowing when I tell this story!”

How about you? Have you an extraordinary near-death experience you'd like to share with us all? If so, I'd love to hear from you!

ANGEL MESSAGES FOR (AND FROM) A DOG

Have you ever received angel messages from a dog? A beautiful story from a lady in Ramsgate, Kent, was reported in my newspaper the other day.

Marian told how, some years ago, after her invalid mother came to live with her, Diamond – Marian’s Samoyed dog – and the elderly lady became devoted to each other. Then, in 2007, Diamond (most unusually) started refusing to go for walks. She just went into the garden and returned to lie near Marian’s Mum all day.

Several weeks later ‘Mum’ took a turn for the worse, dying that July. The morning after her death, Diamond was at the door expressing her readiness (for the first time in months) to go for a walk. When Marian opened the door, she saw a white feather on the step.

Then, at the garden gate, a glorious red butterfly landed on Diamond’s head – between her ears – and stayed there for the whole hour-long walk, only flying away when they reached the gate again.

This spring a white feather appeared on the pavement every time Marian took Diamond for a walk – and a few weeks later the dog fell ill with a liver problem. As her health worsened further white feathers appeared, often landing on Diamond during walks. Marian knew her Mum was sending her a sign that Diamond wasn’t long for this world. She drew comfort from her mother’s nearness.

As Diamond died, at home, another white feather arrived, landing beside her. The next day was the seventh anniversary of the old lady’s death.

The following morning, when Marian went into the garden, she saw a white feather in the very spot where Diamond liked to lie. As she stood crying, a butterfly landed on her arm, staying for 15 minutes. It was comforting to think that her Mum and Diamond, now together again, were watching over her.

Marian now has a Samoyed puppy, Crystal – born four hours after Diamond died. On the morning she went to collect her – yes, there was a feather on her doorstep!

I'D PICK MORE DAISIES

Here's a rather special poem - I'd Pick More Daisies - I'd like to share with you. It was written by Nadine Stair, aged 87, shortly before she died:

If I had my life to live over, I'd try to make more mistakes next time.
I would relax. I would limber up.
I would be sillier than I have been this trip.
I would be crazier. I would be less hygienic.
I would take more chances.
I would take more trips.
I would climb more mountains, swim more rivers, watch more sunsets ...
I would eat more ice cream and less beans.
I would have more actual troubles and fewer imaginary ones.

You see, I am one of those people who lives sanely and sensibly
hour after hour, day after day.
Oh, I have had my moments and if I had to do it all over again,
I'd have more of them.
In fact I'd try to have nothing else.
Just moments, one after another,
instead of living so many years ahead each day.
I have been one of those people who never goes anywhere
without a thermometer, a hot water bottle, a gargle, a raincoat and a parachute.
If I had to do over again, I would go places and do things
and travel lighter than I have.

If I had my life to live over
I would start bare-footed earlier in the spring
and stay that way later in the autumn.
I would play hooky more.
I wouldn't make such good grades except by accident.
I would ride on more merry-go-rounds.

I'd pick more daisies.

ANOTHER ANGEL MESSAGE

Here's another angel message, following on from the one in my last post about Gloria Hunniford and her daughter Caron Keating ...

The tale is told by a man (Colin) in Watford, Herts, who states in today's Daily Mail that he thought it ridiculous when he first read - many years ago - of Gloria's belief about angels leaving white feathers when they visited.

But then his father died. Thirteen hours after the death, Colin's Jack Russell came in from the garden and dropped a small white feather at his feet. His dog was three years old and had averaged ten trips daily in and out of the garden - roughly 10,000 of them - over her 3 years of life. But she had never brought anything into the house before and never did again!

Difficult to disagree that this was another angel message, don't you think?

ANGEL MESSAGES

Have you ever received an angel message in the form of a white feather? I certainly have - and I read in today's newspaper that TV presenter Gloria Hunniford has too, except that she describes such feathers as angels' calling cards.

After her beloved daughter, Caron Keating, died tragically aged 41 Gloria started receiving these feathers whenever she was stressed or despairing over Caron's death.

Years before she died, Caron - an absolute believer in angels - told Gloria: "Remember Mum, if an isolated white feather appears out of nowhere it's a sign that your guardian angel is watching over you." At the time Gloria was quite sceptical, but has since come to the realisation that her daughter was right. She gives special mention to a day when she was on her way to Disneyland with Caron's two young sons, Charlie and Gabriel.

Standing on a rain-soaked platform at Folkestone railway station holding the boys' hands, she ached with pain at the thought of how Caron should have been there with them to share what was meant to be a birthday treat for 7-year old Gabriel.

Trying to put on a brave face for her grandsons' sake, she felt as if her heart was breaking. Then she looked down and saw on her shoe a single, snow-white feather. Despite the rain it was perfectly dry and had quite literally dropped from the sky. There was no rational explanation for its sudden arrival.

But I have my theory about it, just as Gloria did. Do you think that when we most need them we receive angel messages?

ETERNAL VISION

I felt compelled to share these beautiful words, Eternal Vision, by J. Sig Paulson with you. I think you'll appreciate their message as much as I do:

'They know me not who think that I am only flesh and blood -
a transient dweller on the fragile spaceship earth that gave me birth.

For I am Spirit eternal,
indestructible, not confined to space or time
and when my sojourn here is through -
my roles fulfilled, my assignments done -
I will lay aside this space suit called my body
and move on to other mansions, roles, assignments
in our Father's house of eternal life.

So dry your tears,
weep not overmuch for me - or for yourself.
Set me free in the Love that holds us all
and makes us one eternally!
Our paths will cross again
Our minds and hearts will touch
Our souls will shout with joy and laughter
As we recall the lives we've lived, the worlds we've seen,
the ways we've trod to find ourselves - at last - in God.'

DISCOVERING PAST LIVES

Are you as fascinated by the idea of discovering past lives as I am? (It’s how I came to write THE PORTRAIT!)

I’m just reading a brilliant book by Glenn Williston & Judith Johnstone about spiritual growth through a knowledge of former lifetimes.

Dr Williston has helped several thousand people with their problems in this life through regressing them via hypnosis to relevant incidents in past lifetimes. One patient, named Josh, came to him to try to find a reason for his alcoholism and inability to form any kind of meaningful relationship.

When regressed, he kept saying: “I hate them! I hate them! I hate every one of the bloodthirsty savages.”

He gradually revealed that he had been a Blackfoot Indian with a pregnant wife. They were picking their corn one day when three drunken white men with guns arrived on horseback.  These men trampled the corn – killing the wife with her unborn child – yelling and screaming all the while, and showing no mercy. Before leaving they laughed and tossed corn at the Indian they had so wronged.

Josh, as that Indian, resolved to sneak into town at night and kill the 3 murderers. But he didn’t live long enough – contracting a fever and dying a few days later. However, the negative energy remained with him and he still had a self-destructive need for revenge.

After the regression, all of which he remembered, he entered a center for the treatment of alcoholism, to turn his life around. (He had previously refused to attend even one Alcoholics Anonymous meeting!)

So discovering past lives can be highly therapeutic as well as a fascinating exercise. Do you agree?

THE PORTRAIT IS FREE TODAY ON AMAZON!

Yes, THE PORTRAIT is FREE today on Amazon!

Why might this interest you? Because you've presumably questioned what is after death - and because The Portrait by P.G. Glynn might give you pause for thought.

It certainly halts artist Joseph Glenny in his tracks when, walking along a Cornish beach, he meets a girl who looks at him with his dead wife's eyes!

Who is Jess and how can it be that he feels he knows her from long ago? He not only knows, but also loves this girl he has ostensibly only just met. Is he going mad, or has his beloved Lara come back to him, in a different skin?

He had painted Lara's portrait - a portrait that Jess sees when, by 'chance' she enters an art gallery in St Ives. After seeing it, she doesn't know what to believe, nor how to deal with her conflicting feelings.

This haunting love story is FREE for FIVE DAYS via this Amazon Kindle LINK.

If you choose to read it, please share your thoughts on love after death with others ...

THE GHOSTS OF 9/11

I've been reading about the ghosts of 9/11 in Patricia Pearson's book Opening Heaven's Door. It seems that three 9/11 World Trade Center survivors feel they were guided to safety by presences they sensed.

One was led down the North Tower stairs after being 'prodded' through a wall of fire, while another - who had been trapped beneath concrete - received encouraging visits from someone she perceived to be a monk. The third was comforted as he lay under a pile of rubble.

I went on to read about Sir Ernest Shackleton, whose boat became mired in ice in 1916 and who subsequently - accompanied by two of his crew - made a desperate trek across a mountainous 25-mile stretch of Antarctica. As they trekked, all 3 men became conscious of a presence accompanying and guiding them.

They were in this way escorted safely to a whaling station. It is interesting that during the trek none of the men mentioned him, each believing that they were alone in sensing the extra companion. And when asked about it afterwards Sir Ernest said the experience had been too transcendent to be the subject of casual 'Ouija Board chatter'.

Apparently many explorers, mountaineers, divers and sailors have shared his sense of wonder through experiencing the Third Man in times of duress. Sometimes their companions have been visible, sometimes not. At times the presence has spoken aloud to them, but not always. They have invariably, though, been comforted or led to safety.

I wholly believe in the ghosts of 9/11 and the Third Man. Do you?
